"But They Did It On HGTV.."

What makes a movie or TV show soooOOooo entertaining?
The fact that it can be manipulated into LIT-ER-AL-LY anything that will appeal to a viewer. Hey, you got drama…you got viewers!
Everyone knows that reality TV isn’t sooo…eh…should I say….REAL. Many times the stars are actually given a script to add in some extra “Juicy-Ness” to the episode. The same goes for Real Estate Reality shows as well. In fact, they often won’t start filming episodes until the property has closed. Heck - HGTV’s “House Hunters” actually filmed a couple touring a home that wasn’t even For Sale. No other properties were currently on the market, so what is a producer to do? Improvise. “Let’s use a friends house!”
Real estate is very complex; involving many moving parts. Each home, seller, buyer, client, market, EVERYTHING is unique in it’s own way. Just because you saw Joe Shmo’s offer accepted and keys handed to him ALL while he’s wearing the same outfit…doesn’t mean you will close in 30 minutes too. (And let’s be honest, he probably didn’t either)
Keep this in mind when working with your Realtor®. They are working hard to make sure that your transaction is as smooth as a baby’s bottom! – Not to compete with an unrealistic idea of how real estate is perceived. And puh-leeze don't be that guy. "But They Did It On HGTV".
