Hello my lovely friends!
I hope y’all had an amazing Labor Day weekend! I wanted to share with y’all some pics that I snapped on my holiday weekend! My good friend and I visited the Sam Houston Park for the first time! Let me tell ya…it was pretttyy friggin cool!
Sam Houston Park is actually the oldest park in “the 281” and has some of the oldest free-standing brick homes that you’ll find in town today! The Kellum-Noble house was built by Nathaniel Kellum in 1847 and later sold to the Noble family in 1850 (hints the Kellum-Noble name). The home wasn’t just a place to live for the Noble’s, as the misses held it open for her private school until 1877 - when it took part in Houston’s public schooling system.
Not only is this park a great piece of history, but the location is just AWESOME. You get the beautiful Victorian “Old Timey” styles surrounded by the urban city life that Houston’s grown to be today.
Check out some of my pics…
